Fumigation Orange County Homeowner Checklist -- Things to do before fumigation
PLEASE NOTE: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO PREDICT ARRIVAL TIME OF OUR CREWS ON TREATMENT DATE. Our crews have many treatments to complete in a day and all treatments are scheduled according to weather conditions and geographical locations. TO AVOID ANY INCONVENIENCE TO OUR CUSTOMER WE REQUEST THAT YOU VACATE THE PROPERTY EARLY THE MORNING OF THE TREATMENT DATE.
a - All items for human consumption inside structure to be fumigated such as foods, beverages, drugs and medicines which are not in airtight containers (such as sealed glass or metal) must be removed from the structure prior to fumigation or sealed in 4 mil. or greater thickness Nylofume bags [which we furnish] including items in refrigerator and freezer/s. This includes eggs and tobacco items. Fumigations will not be rescheduled due to non bagged items, instead there will be a $250.00 bagging fee per unit.
a - Open all openings to crawl spaces of attics and subfloors. Leave screened windows, drawers and cabinets open 4 to 5 inches. All rooms must be opened/unlocked including closets.
a - Furnish access to the building and all rooms in the building. Key arrangements must be made 24 to 72 hours prior to fumigation. The law requires that the structure(s) be locked during the fumigation process. Please provide us with keys for ALL LOCKED AREAS prior to the treatment date. Keys will be returned to you when the treatment is completed. Statute 5E-14.108 Fumigation Requirements - General Fumigation. - PARAGRAPH #5
a - Remove all mattresses and pillows with waterproof covers such as (Can't Wet) mattresses for infants of sickroom or remove covers. No extra precautions are necessary for waterbeds. Remove or open all sealed storage boxes.
a - All heating elements must be unplugged (heaters, pianos, organs, etc.)
a - All pilot lights must be extinguished (hot water heaters, range, ovens, broilers, gas refrigerators, etc.). Make arrangements to turn off all gas at main valve or tank. Please make arrangements with your gas company to have the gas turned back on and pilot lights lit upon your return.
a - Electricity must be available.
a - Retract all awnings, since only you know how to operate them.
a - If you have a fence against or attached to your building or unit, all fences must be detached leaving enough room to allow the tarp to fall freely to the ground. If they are not removed we will remove them but it will be your responsibility to re-attach them.
a - Any plants closer than twelve inches to the structure(s) or any vines attached to the structure(s) must be removed. Shrubbery and tree branches may be damaged or burned. Cut them back to allow enough space for the tarp to fall freely to the ground. Tree limbs over roof must be trimmed back. Thoroughly water ground shrubs and plants which are located along side or structure.
a - During the treatment process, it is necessary for our crews to work on the roof. Although extreme cautions is used Fumigation Orange County will not be responsible for damage to the roof, cracked/broken tiles, gutters, awnings, antennas, satellites , neon signs, screened areas, plant life or solar heaters. Note: Tar/paint should not be applied within one week prior to the fumigation to allow an adequate drying period. We are not responsible for damage to mobile home roofs involving roofovers.
a - Fumigation Orange County will not be held responsible for vandalism, theft, or breaking and entering during the fumigation and aeration procedure. If you are concerned, we recommend you obtain a watchman or guard during the fumigation and aeration procedure at the customer��s expense.
a - All people must leave and all living things such as pets (including fish aquariums, and growing plants) must be removed from the structure(s) before fumigation begins.
a - Exterior lights on timers must be disconnected from the timer or bulbs removed.
a - All alarms must be turned off or a temporary code be given to Fumigation Orange County.
a - You should plan on being out of your structure(s) for two nights. You may enter the structure(s) on the third day when our CLEARANCE NOTICE is posted on your door. DO NOT re-enter this structure until a signed and dated clearance notice is posted on entranceway doors. Fumigation Orange County
